Inspect the surface....
The surface should be carefully inspected to check for any small repairs that should be done before coating or sealing. Small repairs should be done as soon as possible, as ignoring them will lead to bigger more expensive problems. Even if you are not renewing or waterproofing the area - have the small repairs completed.
Clean the surface....
Though many of our products don't require a clean, dry surface to properly adhere to, any build-ups of dirt or grease should be removed before applying protective coating or sealant.
